Just to remind you, we have the Picnic and Kayak Rodeo coming up this weekend.
10:00 to 17:00, Saturday, 31 July at Winslow Park in Freeport
SMSKN holds its annual picnic and kayak rodeo every 2 to 6 years. There will be events such as a race around a course without a paddle, standing up paddling, cowboy reentries, most rolls in 60 seconds, and any other embarrassing or degrading events we can dream up. The venue will be Winslow Park in Freeport. Low tide is at 09:00, so you will have to get there early if you want to compete in the mud wrestling event.
Everyone should bring whatever food they would like to eat. For whoever is interested, I will bring lobsters to cook. The price I was quoted is $5.00 per pound for lobsters in the 1.25 to 1.33 pound range. I will add $0.50 for butter, so figure $7.00 per lobster. Anyone who wants me to pick up lobster(s) for them should let me know by 15:00 Thursday. I will bring cooking pots, butter and firewood. You will need to bring your own utensiles, dishes (including one for butter) and whatever other food you want.
After lunch we can put together one or more groups to go for a paddle.
Please print, fill out and sign the Participation Agreement and give it to me at the Winslow Park. Also, please check the Attend this Event box below so we will have some idea of how many are coming
