This trip is cancelled due to the winds generated by Hurricane Earl

There are a couple of changes in the plan for this trip. Instead of paddling from Lubec we will spend Friday night in the Herring Cove Campground on Campobello Island and paddle from there Saturday morning. This will be about 2.6 nm shorter than paddling from Lubec and will simplify going through customs.

It will be about 2 nm from the campground to Owen Head, then 6.2 nm over to Northern head on Grand Manan (or we could paddle 7.5 nm straight over) and then about 4.2 down to Northern Head Harbor.

The tidal current shifts from ebb to flood at Northern Head at 13:50, at which time a tidal rip sets up off the head, in fact it would be good to get into the harbor at North Head, which is 4.2 nm beyond Northern Head, before the tidal current shifts. Therefore, I think we should start paddling from Campobello by 09:00.

The other change is instead of staying at the Hole-in-the-Wall Campground, we will be staying in two dormatory style rooms at the Northern Head Harbor. The cost of the two rooms is $140 per night, so if we have eight people going it will cost each person $17.50 per night; if 10 people come it will be $14 per night.
