SMSKN is a network for sea kayakers to meet paddling friends, learn more about all aspects of safe paddling, and plan trips together. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization and have been active since... Network members range from novice to advanced paddlers.
Paddling trips are organized by our members, and are open to our membership. If you are not a member, you may "try us out" by going on one trip before joining. For more information on joining SMSKN, suggestions for trip participation, our standard trip participation form which everyone must sign, our guidelines for rating the difficulty level of trips, and other items, please click on the appropriate button at the left.
See our Event List for scheduled trips. Please note that the SMSKN Event List is for SMSKN events and paddling-related charity events only.
Membership meetings are usually held at 7:00 pm on the third Thursday of every month at the Falmouth Memorial Library. Before each monthly meeting at 7:00 pm we have an informal get together at the Ricetta’s restaurant in Falmouth at 5:30 pm. Please join us for this meeting and dinner beforehand if you can make it.
Our Forum is available for use by anyone for exchanging paddling-related information, scheduling private paddles, buying or selling boats or equipment, or other paddling-related announcements.

Succeeding meetings will include: learning to roll your kayak (with a follow-up pool session dedicated to helping you obtain your roll); birding from your kayak; Greenland paddling, and coastal Geology; each of these meetings will have a subsequent paddle scheduled to provide an opportunity to use the information learned at the meetings. We are in the process of developing topics for the rest of the meetings this year; if you have any ideas let us know.
